VineArts

i am on the leadership team for an arts ministry called VineArts that was started in 2004 at the Vineyard Christian Fellowship of Boise. You can check out what we're all about by visiting our VineArts website: http://www.vineartsboise.org

VineArts is a collabortion of over a hundred artists (young & old, professional & emerging) with a common desire to worship God through the visual arts. our mission is 4-fold:

"to serve God utilizing our hands and our imaginations to express our love for Him and to offer the sacrifice of our praise centering not on self-promotion but on God-promotion.

to serve the church leading the congregation into worship through the vineARTS Gallery and meeting the artistic needs of the church across the ministry matrix.

to serve the community participating in local exhibitions and art auctions in solidarity with various worthy causes and locating non-profit ministries in Boise who have limited financial resources and blessing them with our graphic design services.

to serve each other promoting fellowship, artistic collaborations, encouragement, artist's workshops, brainstorming and feedback opportunities, and camaraderie among the visual artists of Vineyard Boise.

Together, we can do so much more than we could ever dream of doing seperately. Anyone can join the fellowship of artists; we have members worldwide. To join or to learn about upcoming art opportunities contact our VineArts director, Jessie Nilo at the Vineyard Boise (208)377-1477 or email at jessie.nilo@vineyardboise.org "

My involvement has been widespread. Here are some of the ways I've been involved as a leader...
VineArts Gallery: I served as the VineArts Gallery Installation Coordinator for 6 years. There is a team of volunteers to install quarterly juried/themed art exhibits in our art gallery. We get anywhere from 30-60 artists submitting artwork each show. Each show runs about 2.5 months.
The Palate: I co-led a small group for creative hearts called The Palate for 3years. We were a discipleship group in which visual learners were welcome to grow spiritually and creatively in a safe place, through a sampling of artistic activities and solid biblical study. Our focus is worship, prayer, study, and community through creative things like film clips, book study, sketching, painting, poetry reading, encouragement, worship, & prayer. Our goal is to become ever closer to Jesus Christ. And yes the spelling is the spelling for the tongue…as an invitation to come and feed your inner artist.
VineArts Open Studio: I was a monitor in our VineArts Studio for Open Studio hours for 2 years. We invite artists of all mediums to join us in the studio on Wednesdays from 4pm to 8:00pm and Saturdays 10am to 1pm. They can utilize our art supplies, library of art books, and spacious studio for creating and interacting with other artists. There is a team of art studio monitors that rotate throughout the months of the year.
Mural and Backdrop Painting: One of the ways the artists can serve in community is helping to paint three 12foot by 18foot canvas panels utilized to be the stage backdrop for the sanctuary of Vineyard Boise. The images are created in collaboration and coincide with sermon series taught to the church. And we have also been involved with creating large murals to decorate various rooms and hallways within the church.
Art and Worship: I've been a part of several special worship services, small group & youth events, Sunday morning worship services, and Gala events & art conferences that VineArts has been involved with dedicated to allowing a full expression of worship through the various creative arts (music, painting, dance, poetry, clay, drama, film, etc.)

VineArts also offers these ways to serve:
